Post work, pre gym...I stopped at Home Goods (love) and made a mental list of the things that I wanted to attempt to create myself before I rushed back and bought the manufactured version. I saw a shadow box (ahhh should have taken a picture of it!) with some
stupid, impersonal sayings inside. I like to personalize things so after the gym, I got to work. Best part about it was all of the things used were laying around my place so this project was 100% free!
Here's what I used:
- Sharpies
- Double sided frame
- note pad
- printed a cute pattern that matched my room
I wanted to put something in there that meant something to me, so I chose one of my favorite Bible verses. Psalm 40. After I copied the verse onto the notepad paper, I cut the pattern to fit the glass, placed the note in there, cleaned my fingerprints and smudges off of the glass and voila....
I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. <3
An instant, *free*, and meaningful work of art.

Very cute! I've been meaning to make shadow boxes of our old plane tickets (we were long-distance for 2 years) and a few other mementos, but just haven't got around to it. Thanks for reminding me! =)
