Apparently I'm getting old.

So tonight I took my 13 year old niece to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Side note: I've never seen a movie nor read a book from this whole Twilight saga prior to seeing the movie tonight. It doesn't take a genius to understand whats going on so I wasn't totally lost but I was a bit....shocked. Not even an hour into the movie...SEX. I'm not talking slight make out then the camera fades...I mean like back clawing, the next scene the room is messed up and she has bruises.
For goodness sake he broke the headboard! I'm pretty sure I had the "WTF?!" face going on. It made me pull out my ticket stub just to make sure my niece didn't con me into taking her to see something she shouldn't.

I found myself telling her "13 years ago when I was thirteen PG-13 movies were NOT like that!" (Okay maybe some of them were, but STILL!) When I got home I was reviewing our conversation hoping that the things I said registered with her...and I had to laugh at myself because I used the "when I was your age" line.

To make matters even worse, I was supposed to go to a club opening/friends birthday tonight but instead I am in my PJs and glasses sipping green tea and getting ready to crack open the first book, Twilight. I had to.
